- Dot Patterns: these help the student (especially those that reverse their letters) in several ways — cognitive recognition, visual perception and thinking skill development.
- Basic Math Facts: a few flash cards or worksheets daily — if they don't master these, it really slows them down during exams or when working on advanced math topics.
- Decoding Word Lists: Teaching students to break words into smaller sections (decoding) removes the fear and mystery when reading.
