How Can I Teach Math Concepts When They're Still Using Their Finger?

If students are struggling with the basic math facts, they are not concentration on learning the new concept. When teaching a concept, like mean or averages, keep the numbers simple at first.

In fact, it is often advisable to let them use a calculator to do the basic math calculations. This removes the stress from the situation and makes math more enjoyable to learn. Of course, it is essential to work on the basic math facts daily so that a calculator isn't necessary.
