Too many students struggle in school because they are unable to overcome a few 'learning road blocks'.

Using Your Time Wisely.

If you only have the time to do a few things with your elementary school child, consider the following as essential elements.

    They not only teach valuable thinking skills, but they also help your student to see the lines that make up letters. I can't stress enough how important these Re✓erseFixUp patterns are to the creating of a successful student especially for those that print their letters backwards or upsidedown.

  3. Math facts – flash cards or worksheets daily. Do not depend solely on your student memorizing these facts but instead use related facts to help learn them. For example, adding and subtracting math facts can be solved using one of four methods — adding up, counting down, math ladder or using a related math fact.
    If you can only work on a few math facts, teach them their addition doubles, eg., 1+1. 2+2, 3+3, 4+4, 5+5, 6+6, 7+7, 8+8, and 9+9. They can use these to deal with some of the other facts by regrouping and related facts, as well as, when they multiply and divide. Do them while taking your kids to their next activity.
  4. Word Decoding lists – helping a student to see the small segments that make up words is like giving them "the key to the library."
  5. Paragraph Writing Rules – giving students a simple formula for writing a paragraph can change their written world.
